Tuesday Mornings - What will make my day great today?

Good Morning Beautiful,

I would love to share my daily journaling structure that I have been doing for the past 6 months… It has been beneficial for my everyday life, in the way that it makes me reflect and create better plans that relate to my priorities. It has helped me reflect, and think mindfully.

I like to begin with, “What am I grateful for?” I was once told, “What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you expressed gratitude for?” It shifted my thought process immediately. We are so lucky for our supportive relationships, functioning bodies, access to knowledge, therefore it is important to acknowledge them everyday. How often do you reach out to the people that you care about and acknowledge their influence on you? Start off with 3 things that you are grateful for. Have a conversation with someone, just because you want to acknowledge them (it will make their day).

Next comes, my Schedule

These are questions I ask myself throughout the day:

  • What will make my day great today?
  • How would I use my body if I was filled with _______(insert a way of being, ex: passion, discipline, love)?

Thirdly, I have been working on my nutrition in 2018. I’m not calorie counting; I am being mindful of my meals. My Food Log is organized with 4 meals, Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, and Dinner. This prepares me for the day, and another question I like to ask myself when I am about to enjoy a meal.. "Am I going to be happy after I eat this? Is this what I planned on eating today?"

Lastly, Reflection & Notes

I like leaving space on the bottom for comments from the day. What worked? What didn't work? What can I shift and be for tomorrow to be better? I also like to use this area for additional events that may be coming up.

*** On the top of the page I like to write an affirmation or even an inspirational quote. Something that will inspire me for the day.

For example...

  • I am committed to shifting one area of my physiology today.
  • It's good to be loved, it's profound to be understood.
  • My body is my sanctuary.

It may seem like a lot, so try one section for a week. See what works well for you. You might enjoy one or two of them. This is your practice. This is what works for me.

Here’s an image of my journal if you’re interested in seeing how I write it. I am looking to buy a new notebook, but this works really well for now.

Any advice on journaling? In the end, we are all learning from one another. Please share your feedback!
