What are you building?

Hey Community :)

How are you feeling today?

  • Do you ask yourself this often? Daily? I know I sometimes don’t! What? Isa? You!? I know, I know!

    • With traveling, working at different hours, moving apartments, different spaces. It can be unsettling at times. My way of working with these ups and downs? Keeping my body, and mind in focus.

    • Building my foundation. What is important to me everyday. What I Can create and build whilst doing everything in my power to be there for my team, and serve my community.

Ayurveda Today:

I am feeling a HUGE amount of VATA today in my body! Wow. Cracking, and dry dry dry! Why!? Needing to take care of this. So I will be working on balancing this by following advice that I got from a Chopra Course I took on Ayurvedic Doshas, highly recommend trying one of these in your daily practice if you may be feeling the same way.

Need more information about Vata, and the Dosha’s? You’re in luck. I made a post about them a while back, I’ll link it here for you to check out!

So let’s continue!

Many individuals with Vata-influenced lives love variety, but need the framework of a regular routine to remain stable and grounded while pursuing and enjoying that variety.

Some things I have considered for my life, I have linked a few references from the program, because they are the best.

  • Going to sleep before 10 PM, this is huge for me right now.

  • Maintain a regular daily routine

  • Follow a Vata-Balancing diet

    • warm beverages, and simple food

    • avoid alcohol, caffeinated beverages, and chocolate

      • No more coffee this week for me! Oh man. Really? Yayyy.

    • avoid raw or gas-forming vegetables (broccoli family) and large beans (black beans, pinto bean, etc.)

  • breathing sessions, and meditations in the morning

  • moderate exercise – not to the point of exhaustion

    • I particularly love walking in nature and practicing yoga, or going to the gym

  • abhyanga self-massage with cured sesame oil

Today is a regrouping day for me. Feeling under the weather (super gloomy and rainy outside), and giving myself the morning to regenerate, clean my body, and check in on me :) These days I love because it’s gives you time to reflection

Living abroad can be challenging at times… So,

Here are my Travel and Living Abroad guidelines:

To start the day..

Be Rested.

  • Make sure your space gives you the ability to sleep and take care of your needs. Need that steamy shower? The view? The space to stretch in the morning?

  • Make sure you wake up energized, what does that mean to you?

Nurture your Body.

  • What is the food you are putting into your Temple?

    • I say this lightly but honestly because it is important and will impact you at the end of the week.

Move and Discover.

  • Find ways to move your body and creative outlets, outdoor live music? Cool old movie theater?

  • Art galleries?

  • Yoga or Meditation groups nearby?

  • Are you on Meetup yet? If not, and you’re curious to see what opportunities are around you… Link is here.

Figure out your Transportation.

  • Nothing is worse than not knowing where or how the transportation works in a city. Take a minute to get a grip on this. IT will help you in the long run.

    • Do they have Bike Apps?

    • What’s the local Applications for buses and trains?

    • Is calling a Taxi simple or should you install FreeNow? Lyft? Car2Go parking space? (just a little biased, haha).

I hope these tips come in handy to you! Send a comment below if you found this useful or want to know more.
