Historic night at the Met Opera. The first Black composer in the Met Opera’s history. The first official performance since the global pandemic. The Opening Night performance of Fire Shut Up My Bones was Breathtaking. @terrenceblachard took it to a whole other dimension. Tough subjects, sitting at the edge of my seat, and challenging our knowledge on race, manhood, and self identity.
I really feel that this is a turning point for the arts and for our community. The combination of Opera and Jazz @nezetseguin
The passion of the dancers during the Kappa Alpha Psi scene… I literally jumped out of my seat clapping (Choreography by @camilleabrown). The feelings of patriotism when we all sang the national anthem before the performance.
