Hey You, Yes You :)
Starting my first weekly post ritual where I share what I am currently interested in and learning about. Maybe it will inspire you, and maybe you’ll learn something new. So here’s for just the beginning.
New Ritual that I am practicing:
“For thousands of years, people have used sound and vibration, including music, to relax, access deeper states of consciousness, and heal their bodies.”
Last Sunday I went to a Bhakti Kirtan ceremony ( I hope that’s the correct way to state it!) and I was amazed by the result of the practice. I was recommended to go by my soul sister, and I took her word. I did not know what to expect! We went through 3 chants, and it opened up my heart chakra to a whole new level. I felt full and supported. It was truly amazing, and our group was inspiring. We were chanting words in Sanskrit, like Om Hari Om, and several others that focused on opening up closed areas in our lives, and the daily suffering we put on ourselves. By the second chant, my heart and body felt open and vulnerable. I could feel our group’s presence and felt so much love and light in my heart. Amazing. If you want to know more reply to me! Would love to hear your thoughts. “The essence of bhakti yoga is surrender — offering an individual Self to the great ocean of pure consciousness.”
Check out this Article, “The Beginners’ Guide to Kirtan and Mantra” — they share great resources to learn more about the practice.
Things I am reading:
“Wellness expert Brett Blumenthal reveals how to hone in on the mind as the foundation of overall health and well-being. She presents one small, achievable change every week — from developing music appreciation to eating brain-boosting foods, practicing mono-tasking, incorporating play, and more. The accumulation of these lifestyle changes ultimately leads to improved memory, less stress, increased productivity, and sustained happiness.”
Quote I am pondering on:
“To think is easy. To act is hard. But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with your thinking.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Music of the Day:
On Spotify, I have been listening to the Kygo Radio station and obsessed with “Mexico” by: Lucas Estrada.
Newsletter Excerpt of the day: Seth Godin
I don’t agree with Oscar Wilde on this one.
In fact, almost no one else is taken. You definitely can’t (and shouldn’t) be someone who already exists, but the number of slots left is infinite.
Each of us can work to become the person we seek to be. A better version of the person we are right now.
Doing work we’re proud of for people we care about.
I hope you all have a great Saturday filled with love, and excitement.
The light in me sees the light in you ❤
